Benefits of a Fully Functioning A/C System

There are numerous benefits to keeping your air conditioner working at peak performance. Our A/C servicing will keep your home as energy efficient as possible, lowering your monthly utility bills. A properly running A/C system will benefit your overall health by reducing the amount of airborne contaminants in the air inside your home. Your A/C unit can also lower your indoor humidity level, preventing the opportunity for mold and bacteria to grow. And your air conditioning will also keep your home electronics cool and protect them from overheating.

Basics of Your Air Conditioner

The four main components of your air conditioner are:

  • Condenser: The condenser is the outside metal unit where the gas from your A/C unit's compressor is condensed into a liquid. Hot gas enters the condenser and its temperature is lowered so the gas can be converted to liquid.
  • Compressor: The compressor is found inside the condenser and circulates the pressurized refrigerant to concentrate the heat and change the low-pressure gas to high-pressure gas instead.
  • Evaporator: The evaporator is inside your home and absorbs the heat from within your house.
  • Expansion valve: The expansion valve controls the amount of refrigerant in your A/C system. The valve's pieces are connected by a copper tube that handles refrigerant, creating a closed loop. Then, heat is collected in the evaporator and sent outdoors to the condenser. Heat is removed and cool air is then recirculated back into your home.

Contact T & C Air Conditioning for all your A/C repair needs! All our work is under a one-year labor warranty.
